The Suburban Council of Ukrainian Voters advocates issues specific to our community by implementing the following initiatives:

1. Serving as a liaison between the American-Ukrainian community and their elected representatives;

2. Promoting and defending issues that are specific to the American-Ukrainian community; and,

3. Bringing awareness to issues involving Ukraine, the American-Ukrainian community, Ukrainian customs and traditions.

The advancement of concerns affecting the American-Ukrainian community is paramount to our organization. Working with our elected representatives, civic groups, and the community at large, we promote issues that positively impact the American-Ukrainian community and condemn those that are negative to our values.

We acknowledge that in order for our objectives to be achieved the American-Ukrainian community must have a representative voice. And it is our purpose to ensure that that voice is heard. To that end, we identify and support representatives who support our interests and values and work with them to achieve our goals.

Our organization educates our community with respect to current affairs and legislation that affect our concerns. We inform and advise the community on what they can do to help achieve their aims, how to influence the outcome of these issues, and how our elected representatives are serving our community.

American-Ukrainians are proud of their rich and diverse Ukrainian culture and traditions, and nothing brings them greater pride than sharing it with others. Our organization works with and supports American-Ukrainian civic and religious organizations that educate and preserve our Ukrainian customs and traditions, and insure that that same Ukrainian pride will burn in the hearts of the next generation of American-Ukrainians.
